BREEAM Multi-Residential
The BREEAM scheme for multi-residential buildings, instigated in 2009, is an environmental assessment method and certification scheme which is intended for use on multi-occupancy residential buildings.
BREEAM Assessment
The buildings include those with a mixture of self contained dwellings or rooms for residential purposes with communal facilities. BREEAM can be used to assess the following types of multi-residential developments at both the Design and Post Construction stages of their lifecycle:
- Student halls of residence
- Key worker accommodation
- Care homes without extensive medical facilities (consulting rooms and medical rooms are acceptable)
- Sheltered housing
- Other multi-residential buildings, which contain a mix of residential accommodation and communal areas.
